3 Ways To Get Rid Of Your Trash
If you live out in the country, you may live outside the nearest town's trash pickup service. That means that it's your job to make sure that all the trash that you generate at your house is disposed of properly. When it comes to disposing of your trash, you have several options open to you.
Transfer Station/Dump
One of the options you have is to take everything to your local transfer station or dump. Your town may require you to have a sticker on your car so that you go to the transfer station or dump without having to pay any fees. Otherwise, you may have to pay some fees for getting rid of your trash. The transfer station may also have a recycling center so that you can recycle as much of the waste as possible, then trash what you can't recycle. If you do have access to a recycling center, make sure that you check to see if it's a single stream recycling service or if you have to separate everything out.
Trash Removal Services
Another option is to hire a trash removal service. They will come out to your house regularly, and pick up your trash and dispose of it correctly. The service would be just like municipal waste removal companies, but with the aspect that you are going to have to pay for the services instead of the town paying for you. When you look at this option, make sure that the service you use has the approval of your local dump or transfer station, if that's where they are going to dispose of all the trash or ask where they are going to dispose of the trash. You should also check to see if they offer a recycling service.
Burning
You may also be able to choose to burn your trash, but this has some problems. If you live in a wildfire-prone area, there may be long periods of time that you can't have a fire. Another issue is that you are likely to have some trash that you just can't burn, so you are going to have to come up with another option anyway.
If you live in the country, you may not have access to a way to get rid of your trash unless you arrange for it. You have several options that you can choose from, and you might actually use some combination of the various methods.
